something special.
Back to the facial. It was really really painful. Vanity comes with a price. A hefty one. Every squeeze on my face was like an injection on its own. I think I might have experienced the pain of botox injections! I seriously thought the bone at my nose would just crumble under pressure, leaving me nose-less. Or rather, a flat nose without a bone. Hahaha! That's funny! :D
And I embarrassed myself again at the beauty parlour, like I always do. Inside the room, the beautician told me to change into the robe for the procedure, then lie down on the cushioned surface.
"face down?" I asked.
The beautician was visibly stunned for a while. And so was i. my question came out even before I could think! Why would anyone in the right mind lie face down for a facial?! Oooh I always embarrass myself!!!
I liked the whole idea of a facial on new year's eve. It wasn't deliberate, but it worked out wonderfully. It's the whole idea of getting rid of the old in way for the new. Cleaning and fixing for the new year ahead. That's one thing that made my new year eve special this year.
I never really watched Desperate Housewives before but on new year's day, I watched a few episodes in a row on cable with my sister. It's quite a no-brainer with humour that actually tickles my funnybone. But there was something in an episode that left me impressed and made me conclude that the show did have some depth after all, and isn't all that "dense", in darling ching's words. ;)
The plummer guy was kissing the divorced housewife, and in the middle of that he said "I love you" for the first time to her. She was shocked and told him she couldn't tell him the same thing yet. He said he understood cos she had certain issues to deal with first.
I thought that was... wow!! There's some depth for you from a show about sex and sex! People say "I love you" way too easily nowadays that it has lost its meaning. The real significance of saying "I love you" has been lost in so many relationships, and here in an episode of Desperate Housewives it shows perfectly how it is to be used with care. If I were an 8 Days editor I would give this a thumbs up sign under "what's hot and what's not!" :D
